The Pinery is an unincorporated community in Douglas County. It is bordered to the north by the town of Parker and to the southwest by the town of Castle Rock. It has roughly 11,000 residents. The pinery is a neighborhood with mountain views, wild flowers and wildlife. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the city but centrally located to Parker, Castle Rock and Denver. The mountains are only a couple of hours away so it offers the best of both worlds. There are approximately 1,800 homes in the Pinery Homeowner’s Associate. Some homes have views spanning from Pikes Peak to downtown Denver while others are nestled in groves of aspens and pine trees.

Parks and Playgrounds
Located at the intersection of Ponderosa Way and Sunridge Hollow. North Park provides opportunity for picnicking, walking and sandpit volleyball. It offers a playground for the kids with new picnic tables, benches and adult exercise stations.
Lakeshore Park is located at the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and Thunderhill road. Its just down the road from Bingham Lake and is a beautiful spot for picnicking. New benches have recently been added along with a kids’ climber. Visitors can also enjoy the short walking trail around the park where you will find newly placed adult exercise stations. Every August join in the fun at the Pinery picnic and Art show that is hosted at the park.
The Pinery Nature Park is located on North Pinery parkway just eat of the RTD parking lot and south of Northeast Elementary School. The Nature Park is an expansion of the original Bird Sanctuary and is an ongoing project. Phase I has begun with the building of a shelter that will become a history center and a pergola providing a beautiful mountain view.
